The SPAM filter blocks mails from open relay servers. These are servers that allow anyone to send mail and are the servers spammers use to send unsolicited mail or SPAM. The SPAM filter may be activated on your account as a default depending on when your account was created. Please go to User Settings to deactivate the filter and start receiving mail from these senders. |

What happen if my mailbox reaches the limit? |
A |
When your mailbox has reached its limit, messages sent to you will begin to bounce back to the senders. Since you will not be able to receive any new E-mail while your mailbox is full, you will have to clear out your mailbox as soon as you are aware of it being full. This can be done through Web mail. |

Q |
I can check E-mails, but I cannot send any. |
A |
[A-i] Please double-check if the destination E-mail address is correct. If you selected the destination address by replying to someone's E-mail, or by using an address books, try typing it out manually.
[A-ii] Make sure the SMTP server is mail.gol.com
[A-iii] You need to have access to a GOL access point to send E-mails. If you are connected to other providers, such as OCN, you will usually need to have the appropriate SMTP server setting in your E-mail software.
[A-iv] Please make sure you have no E-mail left in your outgoing mailbox. If you have typed a bad E-mail address, the E-mail may be left in the outgoing mailbox, and continue to deliver error messages. |
Q |
I get disconnected when dialing up with a modem to use GOL Domain Mail. |
A |
A dialup connection cannot be established using the User ID for Domain Mail. You need to sign up for a main account service. Ask your local system administrator whether you have service ready for you. If you do, you can make a dialup connection with the parent account of Domain Mail. |
Q |
Error message appears when I try to check E-mails. |
A |
Please check if you can browse the Internet. If this is not possible: No page appears when user opens the browser and tries to browse the Internet. If possible: In many cases, there are some mistakes in mailer settings. Please review the items below. [A-i] If you have an E-mail address that ends with XXX@gol.com, settings for your E-mail software should be as follows:
SMTP server: mail.gol.com POP3 server: popmail.gol.com User ID: youruserID@gol.com Password: your own (This is case-sensitive, and must be typed exactly as it was when given to you.)
[A-ii] If you are using Virtual Domain Mail, settings in your E-mail software should be as follows:
SMTP server: mail.gol.com POP3 server: popmail.gol.com Mail Address: Use the E-mail address which you received for Virtual Domain Mail. User ID: Same as Mailbox Name, Real Account, and POP account, which excludes @gol.com. Password: Initial settings will be the same as the main account (This is case-sensitive, and must be typed exactly as it was when given to you.) |
Q |
I installed a virus software and now I can't get E-mail. |
A |
The software may have changed the settings of your E-mail software. Changing them back to the correct settings should resolve the problem. |
